WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Master's degree required.
  • Active and Valid PA Principal K-12 Certification required.
  • Previous Principal experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years successful teaching experience required, including a minimum of 2 years in administration at the secondary level strongly preferred.
  • Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students
  • Ability to work effectively with other employees, students and parents.

 WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR US:

  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.
  • Establish a professional rapport and respect with students and staff. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents and school personnel. Serve as a role model for students, dressing professionally, demonstrating the importance and relevance of learning, accepting responsibility, and demonstrating pride in the education profession.
  • Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values and goals of the school including instructional programs, extracurricular activities, discipline systems to ensure a safe and orderly climate, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, office operations, and emergency procedures. Ensure compliance with all laws, board policies and civil regulations.
  • Establish the annual master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for students consistent with the school’s philosophy, mission statement and instructional goals.
  • Supervise the instructional programs of the school, evaluating lesson plans and observing classes on a regular basis to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with research on learning and child growth and development.
  • Assists in the development, revisions, and evaluation of the curriculum.
  • Establish procedures for evaluation and selection of instructional materials and equipment, approving all recommendations.
  • Supervise in a fair and consistent manner effective discipline and attendance systems with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school. Ensure a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students. File all required reports regarding violence, vandalism, attendance and discipline matters.
  • Keeps the assistant superintendent and superintendent informed of the school’s activities and problems.
  • Prepares and administers the school budget and supervises school finances or prepares and submits the school’s budgetary requests, and monitors expenditures of funds.
  • Works with various members of the central administrative staff on school problems, such as transportation, special services, and the like.
  • Plans and supervises fire drills and an emergency preparedness program.
  • Supervisory Requirements: Attendance at all school related activities, functions and meetings. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.
  • Professional Preparation: Participates in professional organizations, reads professional journals, attends professional workshops and maintains professional growth to meet state requirement.
  • District, State, and Federal Coordination: Completes or provides information for district, state and federal forms, attends respective meetings and facilitates respective communications.
  • Student Co-Curricular Management: Provides the leadership, direction and management to provide for successful co-curricular programs that complement the mission of the school. Supervises and evaluates the school’s extracurricular program.
  • Communications Abilities: Communicates concise, accurate, and timely verbal and written information.

Salary Level:              According to CAA Agreement: "Job level may reflect such factors as years of experience, degree of skill, and educational background as determined by Superintendent and/or designee"
